Is anyone in the LT creek area interested in meeting together monthly to share a passion for edible gardening?
We are keen to get together to be inspired, educated and empowered about growing our own food (and reduce our carbon footprint)
We are thinking it would evolve into sharing ideas, books, a meal and produce and also be rotated to different houses for a garden tour and/or working bee?”

If you are interested  or have any ideas call  Natalie Stackhouse  on  natalie@believeorganics.com

First get together is planned for early March!!!

Queensland Floods

We are all aware of the terrible situation in Queenland. If you can and want to help here are a few ways to do it.

WHAT: NXFM’s Queensland Care Package
WHERE: Mainfreight – 62 Mitchell Road, Cardiff
(Off Munibung Road)
WHEN: Friday 21 January, 2011 : From 6.00am

Everyone has been deeply affected by the devastating floods in Queensland and even though we’re not physically able to roll up our sleeves and help rebuild a broken city, NXFM’s Steve & Kim for Brekkie want to help show our friends north of the border that Newcastle is here to help.
Novacastrians have a proud reputation for lending a hand in times of hardship and the same applies to NXFM’s Steve & Kim for Breakfast. This Friday (21 January), Steve & Kim will kick off the day by broadcasting their Breakfast show live from Mainfreight at 62 Mitchell Road, Cardiff and residents of Newcastle, Port Stephens and the Hunter are invited to drop in donations of brand new non-perishable items that the generous team at Mainfreight will then transport to Queensland.
The NXFM BBQ Grill Team will be on-site all day to cook up a sausage sizzle and we’ll be crossing live back to the studio throughout the day with regular updates and special guests. Most needed items include bedding, electrical items, toys, paint, furniture and general household items. Our interstate neighbours are starting from scratch, we need to help them start over.
Help Steve & Kim show Queensland how much Newcastle cares.
